We eliminated a number of unwanted features and retained the highly desirable features of our previous survival knife while improving the overall design of the sheath and survival components.<BR><BR>The sheath is an all new lighter hard polymer design. On the outside of the sheath are two removable black nylon pouches which contain the survival gear. The top pouch contains an all new compass with lanyard and degree markings.<BR><BR>The lower pouch contains the following survival items:<BR><BR> - Fish Hooks<BR> - Fishing Line<BR> - Lead Weights<BR> - Wire Wood Cutter<BR> - Water Resistant Matches<BR><BR>And a few other items needed for survival in the wild.<BR><BR>On the backside of the sheath is a sharpening stone. The sheath has an internal knife retention device that keeps the knife secure even if the strap is left undone.<BR><BR>The knife has been lengthened to a full 12" overall with a 7" blade. The blade is heat treat hardened, highly polished, heavy duty 4mm thick stainless steel, which can be used as a signal mirror. The blade guard doubles as a screwdriver. The top side of the blade is heavily serrated for cutting through bone or wood. All metal hardware is subdued and black. The handle is ergonomic and manufactured from virtually indestructable polymer.<BR><BR>This is one heck of a knife for the money with a number of features that we think make it the perfect air crew or combat knife.
