We've beefed up the frame and improved the polarization process making this model the best SDA sunglass of the pack. We spared no effort to make this the perfect set of sunglasses at a truly affordable price and the result has been well worth the effort. Our U.S. manufactured polarized lenses block reflected glare off windows, chrome, snow, water, roadways, freeways, or any surface that is reflecting the sun. Just put them on while driving for a bit, then remove them. You will see the remarkable difference that a quality polarization process makes. These are first class optical quality polarized lenses. They act like a shutter, blocking reflected light waves without distortion. They will not distort LED or most LCD displays like other cheap polarization processes. Our 7691P aviators are perfect for water sports, boating and fishing, eliminating reflected glare off the water surface. And, if you're a trout fisherman, you'll love the fact that you can spot your quarry by looking beyond the water's surface down to where the big lunkers are hiding. You'll wonder where these sunglasses have been your entire life... they're that good. And for driving, well there is simply nothing better for all day wear. The lenses are 1.1 mm shatter proof polycarbonate. They are not the flimsy .65 mm or .75 mm lenses on other makes that tend to allow the frame to distort over time, which eventually causes lenses to pop out of the frame. They provide full UV400 UVA/UVB ultraviolet ray protection. The lens height is slightly less than 1 3/4" so these are nice medium sized lenses compared to our larger aviators that generally run from 2" to 2 1/4" in height. This style and size is the hottest selling model in aviators right now. You can select from a modified AGX tint which is primarily dark gray with just a touch of green/blue tint to reduce non-reflected glare. This is an exceptional tint, far more functional than standard gray or G-15 AGX tints. Our brown tint blocks some elements of blue light which reduces eye strain significantly but, it DOES NOT distort colors like traditional blue blocker style lenses. This tint is favored by long distance drivers, truckers and anyone who experiences eye strain caused by lengthy periods of concentration and exposure to glare and sun. It is perfect for full sunny days or heavy overcast conditions. Our frame is highly hand-polished and finished in dark chrome (gun metal), giving this version of our 7691P a touch of class and a cut above standard gun metal frames. The pictures do not do it justice at all. These are much better looking than we can possibly show in our pictures. Our German Silver (Nickel Alloy) frame provides high strength without stress-cracks for maximum durability and a mirror-like surface finish required for a quality frame gun metal plating process. They look very upscale and comparable to sunglasses costing 2 to 4 times as much. We package it in our convenient soft lined leather-like storage pouch. Simply fold it up and put it in a pocket. The nose pads are adjustable as well as self-adjusting. Additionally they are sized slightly larger than traditional sunglasses to provide an extremely light feel at the point of contact for all-day comfort. The frame has a slight wrap back for a clean modern look and additional side protection. The spring hinge temples guarantee a good fit on most every size head and facial structure from small and narrow to large. The temple arms themselves are sturdy to prevent unwanted bending and distortion, and combined with the substantial double bridge supports, our M7691P is built to last years, not just a season. With a spring hinge, quality built frame, and 1.1 mm U.S. manufactured polycarbonate lenses you would think these might be heavy or bulky. In fact, they weigh less than 1 ounce, a full 50% less than comparable glass lens navigators. They will feel very light on your face. About Gun Metal Finishes: If you are familiar with gun metal finishes as it refers to firearms, this is not a rust blue or brown process, or a chemical darkening process.
