At SDA we have for quite some time admired the looks of blue mirror aviator sunglasses. But finding good quality product from the world-wide market has been problematic, until now. When all else failed, after years of trial and error, we decided to have our own designed in Italy and manufactured in the Far East.

Manufactured exclusively for SDA to our specifications, our blue mirror sunglasses are stunningly good looking with a quality level that defies their price.

The lens tint is our traditional dark smoke that provide full UVA/UVB ultraviolet ray protection. Dark smoke is a neutral tint that does not distort colors. These lenses are optically correct and will not cause parallax distortion. They also are CE approved for Europe and are marked accordingly.

The lenses are layered multiple times with various metals to create the blue mirroring. This is a solid blue mirror, not the 'revo' lenses that change color between blue, green and yellow. Mirroring provides additional protection from bright sunlight and damaging ultraviolet rays. These are an excellent choice for snow conditions, beach or lake wear, fishing, recreational shooting, desert sports or long distance driving, anywhere protection from bright sunlight is required.

The lenses are a sturdy 1.5 millimeter thick shatter resistant ballistic polycarbonate. Thick lenses prevent frame flexing. Thin lenses cause the frame to distort over time, which eventually leads to the lenses falling out of the frame. Our frames will retain their form. The lens-to-frame fit is extremely secure with full encapsulation of the lens around the entire circumference. Compare to dime store sunglasses at .65 or 1.0 millimeter thick lenses. It's the difference between a sturdy long-lasting pair of sunglasses and poor quality junk.

The lenses are 2" tall by 2 1/4" wide. The frame is slightly over 5 1/4" wide, for a nice fit on small to medium size heads. Due to the flexibility of the temple arms, it will fit larger head sizes as well. These are not the 'over-sized' styles of the 1980s. The are nicely sized lenses at 57 millimeters, which match traditional military aviator sizes.

The frame is finished to a smooth polish and chrome-plated multiple times to give it a rich appearance. The nose pads are self-adjusting soft silicone that are also manually adjustable to allow for a perfect fit. The temple arms are screwed in place, not stamped or riveted.
