Unfortunately, one of the toughest things to do is get a good clean picture of dark chrome and mirroring together so both are accurately depicted. In this case we did a pretty good job of getting the dark chrome frame, but because it was low light, the mirroring doesn't show up as well as it would in a full daylight picture. But, you can be assured the mirroring on the gun metal M1030 is a full multiple layer silver oxide mirroring that looks absolutely hot. Dark chrome is a plating process like silver chrome or gold. It has become very popular as an alternative to black frames which are generally painted. The plating process is much more durable and give the frame a high-end finish. The dark chrome finish is less stark of a contrast than black and matches very well with the lens color. This package consists of our best selling M1030M Mirrored Aviators and a black padded hard case. The hard case a black padded leather-like material with rigid internal support for a full protection. The case also has a belt loop. This is the traditional military aviator case style. If you want maximum protection for your sunglasses, this is the case for you. You can sit on it and your glasses will remain fully protected. The M1030 is our number one selling sunglass line by a very wide margin. The mirrored look of the M1030M has suddenly become very popular this year and we think our model is one of the best bargains out there. Hand polished medium dark chrome frames give a sharp high-end finished look and the mirroring is multiple layers of silver-oxide for a very rich high reflection. Mirroring helps reflect glare to keep your eyes from tiring in bright sunlight. And, they provide full UV400 ultra-violet ray protection. The underlying tint is a dark neutral slate gray that allows less than 20% light transmission which is the recommended level for private, military and commercial pilots. And, it will not distort colors. The lenses are produced from 2.1 mm shatter-resistant polycarbonate, the same material and thickness used on our ballistic combat goggles, so you can be certain you won't be if hit by a high velocity object. These are not the thin flimsy .75 mm lenses like cheaper models that tend to pop out of the frame when you sneeze. Those products are a dime a dozen at prices equal to ours or higher! Like we said, this is our number one selling aviator model and we can count on one hand the number of returns because customers didn't like them. And of those who did, the reason for their return ranges from the 'lenses are too small' to 'the lenses are too big'. Based on that feedback from a handful of customers, we think we got the lens size just right on this model. Each lens runs top to bottom at about 2 1/8" high, and from left to right at the widest point about 2 1/2" wide. This is the traditional size of pilot aviators over the last 65 years. Very nicely sized without being oversized. Aviators are back in style, and mirrored aviators are extremely popular.
