While the Romer II has interchangeable lenses and the P-23NP does not, the P-23NP does have features the Romer II does not have. The nose bridge is surrounded with soft rubber. The temple ends employ Wiley X's V-Wave rubber temple tips. Combining the two together give the wearer all-day comfort not found on models like the Romer II. And, the frame design... well this is something we haven't seen before. The gloss black frame is blended with metallic orange making this an incredibly unique and good-looking design. If you're wondering what "silver steel" lenses are, it takes some explaining. Most lenses out there are plain tint or mirrored. The silver steel finish was originally made famous on the Romer II Navy Seal combat sunglasses. It is not a shiny mirror finish, but almost a matte steel-like finish giving the exterior of the lens a unique look in the sun. But it's not just for looks. The silver steel finish reflects glare and provides a protective coating on the exterior of the lens which helps reduces scratches. The underlying tint is smoke/gray so it won't distort colors. Like all Wiley X eyewear, the P-23NP meets or exceeds MIL PRF high velocity military standards, so you know you're getting combat tested eye protection, far exceeding the levels of ANSI standards. The lenses provide full UVA/UVB ultraviolet ray protection. The P-23NP comes with a fully adjustable leash for maximum retention and a soft case.
