GENERAL CONSTRUCTION: If you drive a lot, or just spend a lot of time in the sun squinting, even while wearing polarized lenses, you will come to appreciate these quality high contrast lenses. Normal brown driving lenses are real good at allowing the eyes to relax while in bright sunlight or lightly overcast days. But, like most tinted lenses, they tend to darken the field of vision. But these lenses are different. Instead, our M1030DRL lenses actually increase contrast and sharpness without distoring natural colors while keeping the bright sunlight at bay. These aren't just brown tinted lenses, these have very unique optical characteristics. Additionally, even though the lenses look like a full even tint, they are a gradient with a darker tint on top and a lighter tint on the bottom. You can't tell by looking at them, or if someone is looking at you, but you can certainly see it when wearing them. These make great sunglasses for flying or driving allowing the wearer to view instrumentation easily without lifting up or removing. Like all our M1030 series, these are not wimpy "cellophane-thick" lenses that pop out of the frame when you sneeze. Our M1030 series uses 2.1 mm ballistic polycarbonate, the same thickness used on a lot of combat goggles, for maximum protection. It makes this model suitable for target shooting, skeet, clays, or any activity where shatter-resistant protection is required. And, oh what a joy they are to put on your face. Very light, nice fitting with enough flex in the frame construction to fit virtually any facial structure comfortably.
